It's my Birthday!

But the gift is for you! In honor of my 30th birthday Thursday January 8th, I will be celebrating with a Monday Funday giveaway. On Monday January 26, I will be giving away one of my most popular prints. "Southbound" is a digital illustration I created capturing the winter ritual our feathered friends often do this time of year. If you would like to be the lucky winner of this high quality giclee print all you have to do is leave a comment under this post telling me about your favorite birthday celebration. Be sure to visit my family blog and check out my most recent birthday adventures, and then come back here and tell me about yours. I will choose the best, most creative, funny birthday post and announce the winner on Monday Funday January 26. Anyone is eligible, domestic or international. Join the celebration! Good Luck!

I love this print! Want it! My favorite birthday was when I gave myself a husband (not knowing) as a present. I had met this very beautiful guy at a Yoyoma concert and had given him my number. He didn't call me for 7 months. When he finally did, giving me a whole story about how he had lost the card with my number... I was dating someone else, but I still had butterflies talking to him. I told him I was taken and he said "please keep my number in case something changes." I did. So when the other relationship did not quite work out (kind of hard to stay in a relationship when you realize you are in love with the guy from the cello concert), I called him. I called him one day before my birthday. What I thought was: "I'm broke and no one is going to send me a present this year (my father had died the year before), what will I get for my birthay?" Then it dawned on me. "I'll call that guy." His reply: "Yes, lets DO this!" Ten years later, we have been happily married for 7--with two wonderful kids. I call it the gift that keeps on giving... :-)

wow i don't think i'll be able to top that one, the one that stands out in my mind was when i was 8 and wanted to bring my gecko to my birthday party at the pizza parlour! (I had just ripped off his tail and felt bad? at least i think it was me, can't really remember, only recall feeling really sad for him!) My dad had to call and ask if it was ok to bring him along!

Happy birthday!

Oh! Those are great Birthday memories!!

My favorite Birthday memory was my 19th Birthday. I'm rather vain and always have to wear a tiara for my Birthday (no matter how old I get, I'll always be a princess!). Well, for my 19th Birthday I wore my tiara to work in the produce department at a grocery store. It was loads of fun! I got nicknamed "Banana Queen", someone else was like, "Oh, your a princess today, ay?" as though they thought I was way loony. :p I was wished "Happy Birthday Princess" over the intercom. LOL A guy I worked with gave me a bag of M&M's and to this day I wonder if he paid for them or not.... The ladies I worked with even bought me a B-day card with "Happy Birthday to a special little princess". :D After a long day of work at the store I went and milked cows in my tiara, of course!
That's my favorite birthday not just because I was wished many wonderful Birthday wishes, but I could give something - a smile, a snicker, a giggle, to brighten someones day!

Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday Fooka! Stiff Competition here! Before 9/11 you could get tickets to be on the bleechers for the Golden Globe awards red carpet if you stayed overnight at the Beverly Hilton (where the awards are held). I got it in my head that we would do this for my birthday ( and I live in New York). The awards were on my b'day that year. It was unreal. Somehow we managed to sneak on early and had front row seats. I got great photos of Tom Cruise, Barbra Streisand, Angelina Jolie and so many more. It was sooooo cool. Entertainment Tonight was right in front of us so we saw them interview everyone. Afterwards we went to our room to find a Golden Globe gift bag made of chocolate and we watched the awards on closed circuit TV.
The other great thing was we decided to try to eat at Trader Vics and they let us in w/o a reservation and treated us like royalty even though there were many celebs there - Mr. Big from Sex in the City comes to mind. There were cameras all around - they were filming for something. After we got home we saw a show on the food network about Trader Vics and there we were at our table having dinner up close and personal. That was my best birthday ever. Lynne

I really love your work! I honestly dont have a particular birthday that sticks out in my mind. A few weeks after i turned 17, like 10 of my friends all went to the movies and went to the diner afterward. It wasnt a birthday celebration but it was like our first "all on our own" thing that we all did. We had a ton of fun! (kinda lame sorry!)

It was probably last year's celebration.. It was perfect in my eyes as everything went as planned and there was no conflict or arguments... Thanks for the giveaway!
